4 DIY Wedding Centerpieces

Wedding centerpieces can be both beautiful and affordable. Below are some cost effective options for your special day that you can do yourself. Make each centerpiece your own by incorporating your wedding colors and personal style. I suggest making one centerpiece and make sure its what you want and then using that centerpiece as a blueprint for the rest of the centerpieces. Most of the items for the pieces below came from DollarTree with a cost of less than $20 for each.

DIY Sunflower Wedding Centerpiece

DIY Sunflower Centerpiece

Materials Needed:

  • 8 Wooden Crates from DollarTree. They have two sizes so be sure the get the larger crates.
  • 5 Bunches of sunflowers.
  • 3 Glass Vases
  • 3 candles
  • 2 Floral Foams
  • Glue
  • Stain
  • All of the items above were from DollarTree except the stain.

Instructions:

  • Stain the the wooden crates and let them completely dry.
  • Take two crates and glue them on top of each other with the open sides facing each other. Make 3 sets of these. Let them dry completely.
  • Glue the set of 2 crates to the single crates. The single crate is open face up. Glue the singe crate at the top of the set. Repeat until all crates are glued together.
  • Add the floral foam the single crate along with your sunflowers.
  • Glue a single sunflower to the front of the set of crates.
  • Glue down the glass vases to the top of the set up crates.
  • Add your candles.
  • Perfect for an outdoor fall wedding.

Rustic DIY Centerpiece

Materials Needed:

  • Serving Tray
  • Contact Paper
  • 3 Mason Jars
  • 6 packs of Nautical Rope
  • 6 bunches of onion grass
  • Glue
  • All items are from DollarTree

Instructions:

  • Attach the contact paper to cover the serving tray.
  • Remove the stickers from the bottom of the mason jars.
  • Wrap the nautical rope around each mason jar. Glue the rope as you go along to make sure it stays in place.
  • Glue the mason jars to the serving tray.
  • Add the onion grass to each mason jar.

Materials Needed:

  • 2 Cylinder Vases
  • Ribbon
  • 7 bunches of Dahlia flowers
  • Foam Sphere
  • Glue
  • All items except the Foam Sphere was from DollarTree. The foam sphere was from Michael’s Craft Store.

Instructions:

  • Remove the stickers from the bottom of each vase. Windex works well to remove the stickers.
  • Glue the two vases together. Glue the bottom of each vase together.
  • Let them dry completely.
  • Spray paint them with your desired colors. Let the spray paint dry completely.
  • Cut the stems down on each flower and begin adding them to the floral foam ball until its full. Leave a small space at the bottom of the floral sphere so you can glue it to the top of the vase.
  • Glue the floral foam ball to the top of the vase. Let it dry.
  • Add ribbon to the center of the vases to hide the seam where the vases were glued.

DIY Floating Candle Centerpiece

Materials Needed:

  • 1 Wire Wreath Maker
  • 2 packs of clothespins
  • 1 Charge Plate
  • 1 Large Glass Bowl Vase
  • Floating Candles
  • Glue
  • Spray Paint
  • All items were from DollarTree except the spray paint. floating candles and large glass bowl.
  • The spray paint, floating candles and glass bowl came from Michael’s Craft Store.

Instructions:

  • Add the clothespins to the wire wreath maker. Make sure they are snug so that don’t move.
  • Once all clothespins have been added, spray paint the wreath and the clothes pins. Let it dry completely.
  • Secure the charger plate to the top of the wreath.
  • Add water and floating candles to the glass bowl and place it on top of the charger plate.
