3 Reasons Why They Are Perfect For the DIY Bride
Whew! What a year! We are in 2021 and as we all know COVID has followed us into the new year along with micro weddings in an attempt to keep our gatherings small and intimate.
I know it can be difficult to wrap your mind around a smaller more intimate wedding when you have always dreamed of having a large wedding with A LOT of dancing and NO MASKS! If you plan to move forward with a wedding date that is in the first half of 2021, I would recommend considering the idea of an intimate gathering.
If you are a DIY Bride, a micro wedding may be the perfect option for you. Here are 3 reasons why:
Stress:
Can you imagine planning every detail of a 200 person wedding for over a year, creating a timeline for the day, making sure everyone is on task the day of the wedding and being able to enjoy your special day? The stress would be overwhelming. Now, I am all for the confidence brides have to plan their own wedding but the bottom line is, it’s stressful and you don’t know what you don’t know. Tackling a micro wedding will reduce some of this stress. Since you have a limited guest list, your guests will most likely be your closest loved ones and friends. They will be much more forgiving if there is a mishap.
Budget:
A micro wedding allows you save on everything from your venue to your wedding favors. If you decide to hire a Day of Coordinator, you will most likely cut your cost because they will not need as many assistants to help execute the day.
The food and beverage alone can easily cost you over $100 per person. This does not include alcohol. Reducing the guest list will save money or serve your guest a fancier meal or a meal that consist of more courses.
Another area of savings is decor. With a micro wedding you have have fewer tables that will need linen, centerpieces, menu card, place cards etc.
Trends:
Thanks to COVID 19, micro weddings are trending which means all vendors are catering to micro weddings. They are accommodating and coming up with amazing ideas to make your special day memorable. I have seen mini individual wedding cakes, personalized alcohol glasses with lids, custom masks for favors as well as individual charcuterie boxes during the cocktail hour.
If you are keeping your wedding date in 2021 especially the early part of this year, consider a micro wedding.
